Braze

Increasing Employer Branding by Working with Multiple Teams

BACKGROUND

As an internal communicator at Braze, it was my responsibility to communicate the positive activities that help build the startup’s company culture to increase employer branding. I recognized that when I had joined the company not long ago, while there were stories about some of the activities, they were slightly dated. While employee-driven activities were a norm at Braze, it was not on the top-of-mind for employees to communicate the positive environment the activities contribute. I led the charge to make sure new events and ideas were promoted through content creation, managing the project timeline for each content piece as well as giving suggestions and edits to each piece before it is reviewed with the Braze Content Team.

OBJECTIVE

Bridging the gap between the content team at Braze and the Wellness Wednesday leader to share an article about the event but also revisit some of the positive projects that impacted this particular leader in order to shed light on why the company culture at Braze was positive and welcoming. As Braze was actively hiring, it was important to bring light to many employee-driven and company-driven events in order to increase employer branding to drive new hires.

CHALLENGE

Putting together the article not only shared about Wellness Wednesday but helped revisit some of the company culture aspects that were not talked about in the company blog for a long period of time. As Braze was going through a hiring rush, it was important to give focus not just to the product, but also the company

OPPORTUNITY

Putting together the article not only shared about Wellness Wednesday but helped revisit some of the company culture aspects that were not talked about in the company blog for a long period of time. As Braze was going through a hiring rush, it was important to give focus not just on the product, but also on the company environment.

RESULTS

The detailed content ended the half-year drought of employee-driven blog posts and also introduced the idea to employee resource groups that they could share their activities to the greater company as well as to be given the spotlight for their volunteering.
